International Women’s Day Work 2017 and 2018

International Women’s Day

We believe International Women’s Day is a positive celebration that brings women together to promote solidarity and the building of women’s networks, to highlight women’s achievements and what still needs to be done to secure equality and equity for women in Calderdale, nationally and globally. That is why every year All 1 Collective commits to being part of the International Women’s Day celebrations around Calderdale.

IWD 2018 #PressForProgress
We asked the women attending the Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre’s annual IWD celebrations to tell us:

What are the challenges that you currently face? What would you like to change? and ‘What do you love about being a women?

To read more about their answers, the insights into the needs of local women that were revealed, and and how this informs our work, read the IWD 2018 blog post, written by Hilary Turley.

IWD 2017 #BeBoldForChange

We delivered a workshop at Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre’s annual IWD celebration with the aim of helping to build positive relationships between women from different backgrounds.

Delivered as part of the Stronger Communities community cohesion project, the workshop helped participants to recognise and value the common humanity and diversity in the group and beyond, to develop confidence, esteem in themselves and other women, and to be able to present themselves knowing they 100% count.
